TRANSPORTATION ROUTING AS A FACTOR OF INCREASE OF INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF JSC “UKRZALIZNYTSIA”

Abstract

The article considers the development strategy of the Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Railways", which provides for the achievement of such basic goals as meeting the needs of Ukraine in the railway transportation and logistics in accordance with the plans of economic development and mobility of the population; achieving and maintaining a strong financial position of the company, including by intensifying the necessary investments in the main activities of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia"; ensuring the safety of railway transport for the customers, employees and third parties; increasing the company's attractiveness to the consumers and employees; introduction of the modern and effective management practices and principles.

It is determined that one of the effective directions of development of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" is the transportation routing, which is one of the factors that contribute to increasing its investment attractiveness and, thus, the inflow of the additional funds. Sending routing is a widely used method of organizing transportation, both in Ukraine and abroad. It is designed to accelerate the turnover of cars, reduce the processing of rolling stock at technical stations, and reduce the time of delivery of goods. In modern conditions, when one of the most acute problems of the main railway transport is the lack of funds in Ukrzaliznytsia to upgrade the material and technical base, the economic aspect comes to the fore.

It is noted that routing increases the efficiency of the railway transport, in particular, by reducing the operating costs, allows the freight owners to provide the optimal conditions for transportation, and railways – a high level of competitiveness in the transport market.

The tendency of transportation routing in JSC Ukrzaliznytsia on the example of the regional branch of the South-Western Railway is considered and the level of sending routing in the regional branch of the SouthWestern Railway for 2018 – 2019 is analyzed, as well as new directions in the formation of sending routes in 2019 are noted.
