FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT NETWORKS IN THE EU

Abstract

The article provides financial support and development of railway transport networks in the EU. An analysis of recent research and publications on the peculiarities of functioning and optimization of the transport system and transport networks of the EU, the formation and features of the development of transport infrastructure and ways of its economic growth. The sources of financing for the development and improvement of transport infrastructure are listed. The White Paper on European Transport Policy and the integration of the network at European level are revealed. The projects in the sphere of trans-European transport networks, which are of common interest and contribute to the achievement of Community objectives, are considered. The types of railway tracks and the role in the movement of goods and passengers at long distances, in operations of combined transportation at long distances are considered. Consideration is given to providing investment projects in the development of transport infrastructure and the regulations of the Council of Europe regarding financing and investment projects for the development and reconstruction of European transport networks. Defined forms of assistance with participation of the Commonwealth in financing research projects. The national transport strategy of Ukraine has been analyzed until 2030 and the optimistic and pessimistic scenarios of the development of the export and import of the transport industry have been determined by years. A mechanism has been developed to ensure financing of the transport strategy and the principles of the financing strategy are listed.

Conclusions are made regarding the development of existing national transport networks, their mutual coordination, ensuring the connection of all regions of the European Union.
