THE UKRAINE’S COMMODITY FOREIGN TRADE WITH CIS COUNTRIES

Abstract

In the article the commodity structures of Ukraine-CIS export and import, classified after technological categories, and export/ import geographical structures of Ukraine-CIS, are considered for the period 2009-2018. Analysis of commodity export/import structures, classified after technological categories, in a period 2014-2018 comparatively with a period 2009-2013 educed the following. Shares of commodity export in the total Ukraine- CIS countries export diminished from 36,1% to 19,1 % in average, in particular the primary processing of raw material products and low technology products, that entailed the total falling of the commodity export of these categories on 11,8 bln. USD.

Geographical structure of Ukraine-CIS export and import have been changed substantially too. In a period 2014-2018 comparatively with a period 2009-2013 shares of Ukrainr-CIS export and import substantially diminished ( accordingly on 17,0% and 16,3% ). The largest trade partners of Ukraine are determined among CIS countries in 2018: on the index of foreign trade commodity turnover are Russia, Belarus and Moldova (in all 17.0 % of outwardly-trade circulation of goods of Ukraine); on the index of commodities export - Russia, Belarus , Moldova (all to the 12.1% of the total commodity export of Ukraine), on the index of commodity import are Russia, Belarus , Azerbaijan (all to the 21.6% of the total commodity import of Ukraine).

Comparative advantages of Ukraine’s commodity foreign trade, classified after technological categories, with separate countries of the CIS for period 2014-2018 have been determined. There was selected index of G. Lafey for the research of these comparative advantages .The results of calculations showed the presence of foreign trade comparative advantages in with majority of the CIS countries, in particular Ukraine had most advantages in medium technology products trading with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and also in hich technology products trading with Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus.
