OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AS AN EFFECTIVE DISTANCE LEARNING TOOL

Abstract

The article explores the urgent need to use information and communication technologies for distance learning of students of economic specialties and to improve its quality. Open Educational Resources (OER) as an effective tool for distance learning can solve the growing demand for accessible, relevant education at the global level. These programs are best for those who have mathematical and strong critical and analytical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.

The advent of OER is transforming the landscape of teaching and learning at various levels and ways. Worldwide support for OER has become a reaction to key interrelated issues: its accessibility and development, the quality of educational resources, student performance, and the increase in the cost of training.

The permissions of open educational resources are licensed under a Creative Commons, which provide the opportunity for teachers and scientists to create educational resources: take OER selectively from other countries and include or adapt them to their own courses or create their own digital resources for their own learning and make them available for others.

The most popular foreign and domestic open educational resources are listed. Many leading foreign higher education institutions are contributing to the development of OER on a global scale, seeing as enhancing their academic reputation, attracting talented students and faculty, for improving educational materials and research results through open exchange.

The need and usefulness of integrating OER in teaching and learning, addressing openness and engaging more students has been proven. As well as the potential benefits of OER for universities and institutions concerned with enhancing intellectual capacity, facilitating peer-to-peer collaboration of educators, improving collaboration on educational resources, and enhancing research components.

Open educational resources can strategically improve the quality of curricula in higher educational institutions of our country, reduce the costs associated with the development of education and solve the problem of the present: flexible learning and knowledge sharing in the context of distance learning.
